Abstract:
This study examines the annual and seasonal spatial distribution of tropospheric ozone trends and the distribution of tropospheric ozone columns in India over the time span 2004-2016. It investigates the natural (e.g. monsoon season) and anthropogenic (e.g. air pollution) attributions to TOC distributions and trends in India. The purpose of this study is to increase the amount of in-depth air-quality observations in regions of underdeveloped countries like India that are often scientifically overlooked. This research uses NASA’s Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) and the linear regression model. Global climate numerical model simulations data will be used for visualization techniques. The distribution of tropospheric ozone in India during 2004-2016 increased as more anthropogenic sources of ozone emissions were introduced to the region, via manufacturing, agriculture, public transportation, etc. Seasonally, there are changes in India’s tropospheric ozone spatial and temporal distributions due to the monsoon weather system in the region. Further research will continue to investigate the socioeconomic and natural influences at different times that the varying sources surged to identify what most likely contributed.
