Extracting the evolution information of the eastern part of the Central Asian orogenic belt by combining the shallow and deep information from the deep seismic reflection profile

Abstract:
The deep seismic reflection profile technology, which makes the use of the long-offset with small trace interval geophones to receive, is an effective technology for revealing the highest resolution of the crustal structure that promote the understanding of the tectonic evolution of this orogenic belt. This study obtained the fine shallow velocity structure in the eastern segment of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt by first arrival travel-time tomography. Combining the strong amplitude reflection information in this profile with the shallow velocity structure, the bidirectional subduction of the paleo-Asian ocean on the north and south of the profile and the residual microcontinent block information in the middle of the profile are inferred.
