Abstract:
Fog is difficult to simulate accurately due to the complex interaction of many processes, including surface fluxes, thermodynamics, radiation, and cloud microphysics. Uncertainties in the parameterization of these processes contributes to the difficulty. In this study we are focusing on the microphysical factors that contribute to the uncertainty. We will present preliminary results from observational and modeling analysis that seeks to improve our understanding of microphysical processes in fog.
