Abstract:
Forest fire is one of major environmental disturbances around the world. In 2019, more than 25.5 million acres area were burned during the mega forest fire in Australia. By integrating multiple MODIS fire detection and burned area products, we conducted statistical analysis of fire area, area severity, fire radiative power (FRP), and CH4 and CO emission. We will present our analysis results in terms of distributions of fire severity, CH4 and CO emission, and relations between CH4 and fire severity in 2019 Australia fire.
