Abstract:
Existing disparities in climate change impacts among vulnerable groups are being compounded by the novel coronavirus pandemic. In the United States and its territories, vulnerable populations already disproportionately impacted by climate-augmented events such as extreme heat, wildfires, drought, hurricanes, and inland and coastal floods are also the groups most exposed to COVID-19, and morbidity and mortality are higher in these groups as well. In this presentation, we share findings of our actionable research at the intersection of climate change, COVID-19, and vulnerable populations
