Abstract:
Land surface temperature is an important climate variable. With the changing population dynamics, the majority of humans will be living in urban centers. These urban centers appear as distinct urban hotspots on the surface temperature maps. We investigated temperature trends of these hotspots as these factors play an important role in human health and urban micro-climate. Using various remote sensing data, we studied the temperature trends and investigated potential drivers of the anomalies in the observed deviations.
