Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) Program: Building the Skills to Acquire and Use NASA Satellite and Model Data for Decision Support

Abstract:

For over one decade NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing Training program (ARSET) has offered satellite remote sensing training that builds the skills to integrate NASA Earth Science data into agency’s decision-making activities. The program provides training via online webinars and in-person workshops to access and apply NASA Earth Science data for a range of applications. ARSET trainings are intended for policymakers, NGOs, and other applied science professionals seeking to incorporate NASA remote sensing into their daily activities. Over the past decade ARSET has reached over 30,000 participants from 175 countries. In developing and providing trainings, ARSET serves as a bridge between decision-makers, Earth observations, and tool developers.
