Abstract:
The SORTIE CubeSat was launched from the International Space Station early in 2020 featuring an Ion Velocity Meter (IVM) capable of measuring the same plasma properties as the larger heritage IVM instruments onboard the NASA ICON and NOAA/NSPO COSMIC-2 constellation missions. Initial results from SORTIE will be presented along with an overview of open-source technologies used to process the IVM outputs.
