New and upcoming developments of standardized InSAR Products by the Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) Project for Natural Hazards

Abstract:
JPL’s Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) project has been generating SAR-derived products quasi-operationally. Product standardization and generation was carried out with an aim to minimize the user’s need for specialized radar processing softwares, making SAR data more accessible to science and application users.

The ARIA product portfolio currently includes a growing archive of 65,000+ Sentinel-1 displacement products with complete coverage over California and Hawaii, among other global target areas. Products are available through the ARIA products page (http://aria-products.jpl.nasa.gov) and the NASA Alaska Satellite Facility Distributed Active Archive Center data search page (https://search.asf.alaska.edu) as part of NASA’s Getting Ready for NISAR project. We will outline recent and future planned expansions of the archive aimed at providing blanket coverage over the Tibetan plateau, and also provide an overview of the ARIA on-demand submission page that allows the community to directly leverage the ARIA data system for generation of standardized products over their region of interest.

We will also present upcoming product developments by ARIA, such as a quasi-operational Sentinel-1 standard coseismic product and a standard ALOS-2 interferometry product. Generation of coseismic products will be automatically triggered by the USGS PAGER system and will leverage restituted orbits to reduce latency. In anticipation of an upcoming open ALOS-2 ScanSAR archive, we will provide the salient features of a standard ALOS-2 displacement product.

All the above products are directly compatible with the developed open-source ARIA-tools repository (https://github.com/aria-tools/ARIA-tools), enabling the community to perform post-processing analysis such as time-series analysis and preparation for modelling. Recent developments have focused on cloud capabilities and removing the need for the downloading of data. We will provide an update on the developed training modules for the community, and ability to use the ARIA-tools in ASF’s OpenSARlab.
