Applications of hydroinformatics approaches and techniques to water resources management in agriculture
Applications of hydroinformatics approaches and techniques to water resources management in agriculture
Session ID#: 117803
Session Description:
As water scarcity is increasingly recognized as the future major constraint to increase agricultural production, various agricultural water management approaches and techniques that drive agricultural sustainability are being explored. This session is an extension of the Research Topic entitled “Hydroinformatics for Sustainable Water Management in Agrosystems” proposed in the Frontiers in Water journal. It, therefore, invites submissions at the intersection of hydroinformatics and agriculture aiming at fostering water resources sustainability. We welcome both early-stage and recently-published research efforts on technological and/or social innovations around water resources management in agriculture such as: a) emerging approaches to integrated agricultural water management; b) innovative sensors for monitoring soil-water-plant interactions; c) water data management and integration techniques; d) Irrigation-centric decision-support systems; e) Experimental digital twins applications in water management ; f) Hydrologic modelling of agricultural systems; h) applications of artificial intelligence in agricultural water management;
