Meteorology and climatology of atmospheric electricity and lightning
Meteorology and climatology of atmospheric electricity and lightning
Session ID#: 118784
Session Description:
Atmospheric electricity, thunderstorm electrification and lightning discharges are linked to the underlying meteorology and climatology of the atmosphere. Our understanding of these connections continues to grow, and encompasses the thermodynamic, kinematic, and chemical coupling of lightning to the earth system. This session invites abstracts, for oral, poster, or eLightning format, that address the relationship between these topics, through synthesis of meteorological and electrical observations, simulations, forecasts, machine learning, and theory. Contributions might emphasize of fundamental, process-level understanding as well as practical application.
