General Session: Atmospheric Physics, Radiation, Clouds, and Aerosols

Session ID#: 119346

Session Description:
Atmospheric physics, radiation, clouds and aerosols lie at the heart of climate forcing and feedbacks, and the interactions between changes in atmospheric composition and dynamics, along with ocean, ice and land-surface physical, chemical and biological processes. This session aims to stimulate discussion across a broad spectrum of atmospheric physics, radiation, clouds and aerosols fields, and to provide a forum for innovative and exciting ideas and approaches that address long-standing, emerging, and cross-cutting scientific problems, especially those that contribute to the main sources of uncertainty in understanding, predicting and projecting climate variability and change. This session aims at straddling observational and modeling investigations that offer insights into the major processes and factors governing the sensitivity of the global and regional climate states and their change. We welcome reviews and perspectives on related topics, in addition to new research.
