Advancing Land Surface Models for Hydrological and Environmental Applications

Session ID#: 119722

Session Description:
Land surface modeling has become an important tool for providing hydrological and environmental data. This session will highlight the latest developments in land surface models (LSMs), diagnosis techniques and datasets. We encourage contributions in: (1) Model developments and improvements that address pressing issues facing the hydrology and earth science communities; (2) diagnosis and analysis that help improve simulation of land surface processes; (3) Innovative approaches for model calibration and improvement through various techniques including data assimilation, artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data, and (4) development of atmospheric forcing and other parameter datasets for large-scale land surface modeling.
