Advances in hydrogeophysics for subsurface investigation

Session ID#: 119860

Session Description:
Combining geophysical and hydrogeological techniques can provide valuable subsurface information at a wide range of spatiotemporal scales, which substantially improves the characterization of hydrogeological structures, flow and transport processes, water quality, saturation dynamics, and contamination remediation. This session solicits abstracts on recent advances and novel approaches for characterizing subsurface properties and dynamic processes from the pore- to catchment-scale using geophysical and hydrogeological methods in laboratory, field, or numerical studies. We encourage submissions including subsurface imaging, time-lapse monitoring, aquifer characterization, heat and solute tracer experiments, instrumentation development, and numerical simulation. Other general applications integrating geophysics and hydrogeology are also welcome. We aim to promote and engage students and early career presenters with active feedback during and after the session.
