Integrated soil modeling

Session ID#: 120185

Session Description:
Soils are living systems in which chemical, biological, hydrological and geological processes interact across multiple spatial and temporal scales. The quantitative and predictive representation of these complex intersections and their scaling in quantitative and predictive frameworks remain a formidable scientific challenge. This session will focus on computational and mathematical soil models that address integration of multiple soil processes across scales; approaches for providing data and parameters and upscaling strategies for application of such models to address contemporary climatic, agronomic and hydrologic issues.

(This session is joint to the Biogeosceinces and Hydrology sections of the AGU and supported by the International Soil Modeling Consortium - ISMC)
