Coronal Magnetic Eruptions: from Birth to Death
Coronal Magnetic Eruptions: from Birth to Death
Session ID#: 122648
Session Description:
Coronal Magnetic Eruptions(CMEs) are large bulks of plasma with embedded magnetic field. They are complex structures that disrupt the local interplanetary medium, as they interact with the highly magnetized ambient solar wind. CMEs have been the center of a multitude of studies that aimed to understand their formation, initiation mechanism, and evolution. This session aims to explore the latest research reconciling the different aspects of CME research, such as their creation, magnetic structure, composition, kinematics, and evolution. We solicit contributions based on new theoretical developments, remote-sensing and in-situ analysis, numerical simulations, as well as a combination of methods. Particular emphasis is given to recent results and novel approaches that have the potential to advance our understanding of these subjects.
