Advancing Open Science: Stewardship to Enable Cross Disciplinary, Collaborative Science

Session ID#: 123623

Session Description:
Open science is a concept gaining wider adoption across the scientific community that offers a number of advantages to researchers including providing open access to publications, data, software, and documentation.

Science is increasingly data driven, so data producers, archivers and managers are in a unique position to accelerate cross-disciplinary, interoperable science. This session seeks to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across scientific disciplines and will emphasize recommended practices in data stewardship and technology solutions that enable interoperable open science. We encourage presentations that describe the development of open data and software policies; experiences building trusted relationships between different communities of practice; recommended data and software stewardship practices that foster open, interdisciplinary science; and technology solutions that enable efficient and collaborative science. We especially welcome presentations from the planetary and space science data communities in order to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Earth sciences.
