Aerosol Chemistry and Effects in the Anthropocene
Aerosol Chemistry and Effects in the Anthropocene
Session ID#: 124306
Session Description:
Aerosol chemistry plays a vital role in the Earth system, climate, and health. Chemical reactions, mass transport, and phase transitions between gases, liquids, and solids are essential for the interaction and coevolution of life and climate. Knowledge of the mechanisms and kinetics of these processes is also required to address societally relevant questions of global environmental change and public health in the Anthropocene, that is, in the present era of globally pervasive and steeply increasing human influence on planet Earth.
The session is open for all submissions (especially those of general interest) which addresses, but is not limited to, the following questions concerning aerosol chemistry:
Key oxidation pathways leading to aerosol formation;
Effects of phase state, mixing state and pH on aerosol chemistry;
Kinetic data of aerosol chemistry directly applicable for ambient condition;
Effects of aerosol chemistry and properties on air quality and climate.
