Complex human-natural systems on Earth and in Space
Session ID#: 124401
Session Description:
Reductionism and unidisciplinary research are ill-equipped to this new environment, made apparent by recent disasters such as the power crisis in Texas. It is clear that ‘antidisciplinary’ (the space between disciplines) approaches are required to understand human-natural systems, to characterize the risks, and to build resilience.
The session will focus on techniques that enable exploration of complex systems via multi-domain, multi-resolution dynamic datasets. Topics include, but are not limited to, new approaches to facilitate convergent research, demonstrable use cases integrating multiple domains, cutting-edge applications of complex systems and machine learning analyses. Join a discussion of interrelationships between domains and novel approaches to complex human-natural systems.
