Inviting Interdisciplinary Thinking
Inviting Interdisciplinary Thinking
Session ID#: 124662
Session Description:
From elementary school to graduate school through early to late career, children wonder and scientists ponder how to think about the world through the lens of one discipline. Increasingly, one discipline is wholly inadequate. Interdisciplinary thinking has led to new disciplines such as biochemistry, astrobiology, forensics, and earth systems. It has expanded and extended we think and what we know. Basic questions are being addressed and new ones asked. This session invites presentations and posters about education, outreach, and communication activities that invite audiences into interdisciplinary thinking, as well as those that seek to define it.
