Open Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilizing Earth Observations for Decision Support
Open Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilizing Earth Observations for Decision Support
Session ID#: 124747
Session Description:
The global COVID19 pandemic outbreak has exposed a new challenge that rapid data insights to support large-scale decision-making and policy intervention are needed. With more Earth Observations (EO) data catalogs and machine learning (ML) applications available at a massive scale, data-driven insights can be rapidly discovered to support global policymaking and intervention for a healthy and safer society. Such data insight-based discovery can be streamlined through standardized open data and AI approaches. Open data standards may include cloud-optimized formats e.g. COGs and STAC, and the available applications that utilize these formats including ML model STAC and MLOps at production. These standardized data insight and discovery techniques need to be discussed more broadly, with thorough knowledge exchange of EO and Geo science communities. This session seeks discussion and advancements on standard open data, artificial intelligence, application production pipelines, end-user platforms in the communities for large-scale data insight discovery and decision-making support.
