Data and Information Services for Interdisciplinary Research and Applications in Earth Science

Session ID#: 157036

Session Description:
Making data and information services for interdisciplinary research and application Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (the FAIR Guiding Principles) to support open science has been the primary goal for this session.  For the past four years, this session has provided a platform for speakers from academia, industry, government, and community stakeholders around the world to present their work and discuss the common challenges and solutions in interdisciplinary data services.

This year, we are seeking presentations to not merely describe existing or ongoing innovative Earth science data service activities for interdisciplinary research and applications, but, in particular, adopting the FAIR Guiding Principles towards sustainable solutions in Earth Science is important for open science. Presentations addressing specific research/industry/application needs, datasets and services, metrics, data ethics, trainings, best practices, lessons learned and new challenges in cloud computing, big data, AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning), data provenance,  user services and scientific reproducibility, regarding information discovery, access, data integration, visualization, and analysis, are highly encouraged. Discussion of challenges for future data services, including in light of NASA’s decadal survey are also welcome.
