Seismological Monitoring of Landslides in the Himalayas
Seismological Monitoring of Landslides in the Himalayas
Session ID#: 158192
Session Description:
The Himalayas region plays a vital role in the process of season change in many nearby countries like India, Nepal, China, Pakistan, Bhutan, Tajikistan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. Many people living in the vicinity of the Himalayas are at risk of landslides. Over the past two decades, more than 10,000 people have lost their lives and millions of properties have been destroyed by landslide. Landslide does not have a specific way of its occurrence and process sequence. Therefore, it becomes necessary to monitor to minimize the losses.
We welcome abstracts to address challenges and development in real-time monitoring and warning, socio-economic impact assessment, instrumentation, and model for real-time monitoring of landslides. We also encourage research and application of AI/ML/DL, signal detection techniques for time series data, time-frequency analysis for time series analysis, and data science technologies for advancing these topics on large scales.
