Parker Solar Probe Observations of Near-Sun Phenomena

Session ID#: 158443

Session Description:
The day before the 2022 AGU Fall Meeting is to begin, Parker Solar Probe will reach a perihelion of 13.3 Rsun during the 14th orbit of its 24-orbit prime mission. Measurements taken on previous orbits are unique observations of the innermost heliosphere, coronal structures, and solar energetic particles. These measurements have revealed the highly structured and dynamic nature of the young solar wind, and have provided clues to the formation and evolution of solar wind structures and of solar energetic particles commonly seen at 1 AU. This session will feature observations of the properties and structures of the very young solar wind, including waves, streams, discontinuities, suprathermal and energetic particles, and ICMEs.
