Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the Space Sciences
Session ID#: 158664
Session Description:
The advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility of underrepresented groups in science is not solely an issue of fundamental fairness. By involving the widest range of viewpoints and individual experiences in our community, we also improve the quality of our work, and expand access to new ideas.
The second year of this session includes a panel discussion by individuals from government, academia, and industry who are successfully improving diversity, equity, and inclusion within the space sciences. Topics covered include opportunities for funding for DEIA efforts, assessment and reward structures for DEIA, the use of personal pronouns, bystander intervention techniques, and a community discussion of what is working and where we go from here.
