River Deltas: Hydrology, Geomorphology, and Sedimentology

Session ID#: 158825

Session Description:
River delta morphology and stratigraphy reveal a complex interplay between rivers, tides, waves, biota, base-level changes, and sediments. Our understanding of delta form, processes, or their vulnerability, therefore, relies on a cross-disciplinary effort. This session aims for a broad representation of the scientific communities centered around hydrology, morphology, ecology, oceanography, and planetary geomorphology. We invite presenters to share recent scientific advancements in our understanding of river deltas through new theory, fieldwork, experimental, or numerical modeling.
