Early Career-Led DEI Initiatives: Actionable Insights Towards a More Just, Equitable, and Inclusive Scientific Environment

Session ID#: 159228

Session Description:
This session is intended to highlight the completed and ongoing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives led by early career researchers (ECRs). Through this session we aim to connect like-minded ECRs to exchange ideas for engagement in DEI initiatives, discuss strategies to ensure efforts have a lasting impact, and normalize DEI work as a component of an ECR’s responsibilities. Examples of topics include, but are not limited to, ECR-led organizations, specific projects, ECR-held leadership positions, or ECR-organized conferences, particularly those that highlight advancements and barriers in DEI work. We welcome submissions from ECRs, including both graduate and undergraduate students, postdocs, and early career professionals, as well as advisors to ECR-led groups or initiatives.
