Science to Action: Transformative Partnerships and Knowledge Coproduction to Advance Decision-Relevant Science

Session ID#: 160993

Session Description:
The community science space has grown exponentially in the past five years. As scientists, practitioners and communities expand their collaboration and coproduction efforts in pursuit of decision-relevant and actionable science, we have a growing depth of knowledge and resources to build upon. The scientific community now has a wealth of case studies, published research, and stories about how to equitably partner with different stakeholders, and how to replicate this work across fields, disciplines, and types of stakeholder relationships. In this session, we invite submissions on (1) how these truly collaborative partnerships lead to decision-relevant tools, resources, or knowledge; (2) co-production of knowledge where multiple types of knowledge, including Indigenous Knowledge and western scientific disciplines are combined, and (3) how these partnerships build upon and contribute to the growing community science knowledge base and scientific literature. We invite on-the-ground stories and experiences, successes and challenges, and best practices that illustrate relationship-building, increased collaborative capacity, and the successful co-production of actionable science with partners including federal, state, local, university, Indigenous and extension partners. We are especially interested in highlighting how successes and lessons learned can be applied across disciplines and in different partnerships. Through this collective learning space, we continue progress toward interdisciplinary and transformative science that is actionable and equitable.
