Community Experimentation - Building an Open, Accessible Future in Hydraulics, Geomorphology, Ecohydraulics, and Sedimentology
Community Experimentation - Building an Open, Accessible Future in Hydraulics, Geomorphology, Ecohydraulics, and Sedimentology
Session ID#: 161612
Session Description:
Community driven science offers opportunities for collective growth and learning, creating a sense of belonging for scholars who do not have equivalent access to resources. Open sharing of experimental data provides opportunities for moving the field forward efficiently while maximizing accessibility of data to scientists regardless of proximity to large laboratory facilities. We invite abstracts discussing all aspects of making experimental science more open and accessible, as well as the application of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data practices to experimental research. We seek to spark a community driven learning environment to discuss best practices for structuring, publishing, and making data and metadata available following FAIR data principles and promote open access to the experimental process itself through opportunities for remote experimentation. We invite presentations from all fields of experimental sciences to describe methods, approaches, and successful implementations designing and promoting community-driven approaches to laboratory research.
