ED037
Using the Polar Literacy Principles to Guide Development of Impactful BI Activities

Session ID#: 161951

Session Description:
The Polar Regions are facing changes with global consequences. From climate to food web changes, impacts continue to emerge, while the importance of our Polar Regions are often overlooked. The Polar Literacy Principles (PLP) outline essential concepts to improve public understanding of these critical and sensitive ecosystems. The PLP (https://polar-ice.org/polar-literacy-initiative/) cover a variety of topics including the uniqueness of the regions and their impact on the planet; impact of climate change on the regions including ice, food webs, and people; and the technologies used to study the Polar Regions.

This session will highlight education and outreach products created for conveying the importance of the Polar Regions on the planet. These products will address critical content identified in the PLP.
