Measurement to Manuscript: Innovative Approaches to Biogeochemical Data Management

Session ID#: 85371

Session Description:
Advances in the management of marine biogeochemical data have progressed steadily over the last decade. One reason for these advances is that there is a community of data managers, scientists, and developers working together to address data management challenges and establish an operational data flow. It has also become evident that no single organization can address all of the technical and logistical challenges of meeting the data management requirements of all marine biogeochemical data. Compounding these challenges are new research techniques and instruments that continue to push the boundaries of data acquisition and management. Innovations in autonomous observing platforms, satellite technologies and microbial omics techniques, necessitate innovative solutions to address data flow. This session seeks presentations on innovative data management solutions that deliver high-quality data for scientific analysis. Presentations on collaborations that span multiple organizations are especially encouraged.
