This roundtable presentation will provide an in-depth consideration of the historical significance and qualities of inviting K-12 students to identify, collect, and learn from histories of education and friendship that bring them together and connect them to a diversity of educational communities, moments, and spaces framing Mexican American and Chicana/o/x History in Southern California. It will make it accessible to discuss the depth, diversity, and nuance of archival materials that K-12 students often welcome as pathways to humanizing self-reflection, writing, and ongoing dialogue steeped in meaningful historical connections, questions, and sources.
