Session Abstract

Data from various arenas, including enrollments, majors, funding, faculty positions, and the changing structure of the academic labor market have generated a sense of crisis in our discipline. This session examines these challenges on the ground in history departments, including examples of thoughtful solutions. The goal of the session is to help AHA leadership better understand what needs it could address and to offer participants an opportunity to discuss strategies for overcoming obstacles.
