| BEC201 Evolutionary and Combinatorial Approaches to Metabolic Pathway and Strain Improvement | ||||||
| Overview | This session aims at presenting pathway engineering approaches that combine the use of genomics information with evolutionary design methods to optimize production or broaden the structural diversity of product metabolites. Examples include the use of random point mutagenesis, gene recombination, transposon mutagenesis, and combinatorial gene deletion or gene addition analyses to modify existing metabolic pathways, create new pathways, and/or alter the function of specific genes within a pathway. | |||||
