The Extraction-Distillation (Stripping) combination is a common one in industry. With the avaialbility of powerful analysis tools and simulation programs, as well as understading of some fundamentals, engineers can analyze conventional Extraction flowsheets to determine if Extractive Distillation is an economic alternative. This paper will explore some of this fundamental concepts.
