Hu, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, One Bethel Valley Road, Bldg. 4500N, Room A34, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-6181 It is important to obtain fundamental understanding of the mechanisms, kinetics, and the nanostructure formation during organic-inorganic hybrid molecular self-assembly in the nanoscale channels. Specifically, our investigation has been conducted on the new intra-wire nanoporous structures in silica nanowires by space-confined self-assembly of mixed block-copolymer (P123) and inorganic molecular precursor (tetra ethyl orthosilicate, TEOS) with the anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) and etched poly-carbonate (EPC) channels (with diameters between 10 and 200 nm). The effects of process conditions and substrate geometry (nanoscale space confimement) and channel surface chemistry on the self-assmbly will be discussed. Extended Abstract Status: Not Uploaded | ||
