15C06 Quantitative Metabolic Phenotyping in Plant and Animal Systems
OverviewMetabolic flux analysis (MFA) and metabolite profiling are powerful platforms for studying biochemical reaction networks. An emerging area of interest is in the application of these approaches to address fundamental physiological questions in higher organisms, especially plant and animal systems of specific agricultural or clinical significance. In this session, we explore the extension of metabolic phenoptying to quantitative physiological studies. Applications to mammalian tissue/cell cultures, plant cell/embryo systems and whole plants/animals are of primary interest. Integrative modeling studies based on fluxomic and metabolomic data sets are also of interest.
