10E06 Chemical Engineering Applications of Semantic Web Technologies
OverviewThe “Semantic Web” is a term coined by Tim Berners-Lee to describe web content (documents, images, applications) which contains explicit descriptions of its underlying semantics, or meaning. A variety of new web tools, collectively dubbed “Web 2.0,” are bringing the semantic web closer to fruition. This session will explore innovative applications of semantic web and Web 2.0 technologies to chemical engineering and related fields. In particular, we are looking for papers describing the use of Wikis, blogs, semantic mark-up, and formal ontologies to applications of interest to chemical engineers.
