During the process of bone regeneration and resorption bone is constantly being created and destroyed. The balance of these two processes determines the change in the bone volume. If more regeneration is occurring through the osteoblasts the bone volume will increase. Logically it follows that if there is more resorption bone volume will decrease. By using models to simulate the different factors involved in these processes we are able to observe what affects certain changes to the system would have. Once these behaviors are understood we can use our knowledge to develop and simulate an off-lattice model for bone tumors and how to treat them.
