The water¨Cgas shift (WGS) reaction combined with a membrane is attractive because hydrogen can be selectively permeated through a membrane, resulting in complete conversion. In this manner, we can overcome the thermodynamic limitations of WGS reaction. In this study, MFI zeolite membranes supported on porous ¦Á-alumina substrate have been synthesized from an aluminum free precursor solution containing SiO2. NaOH.H2O and TPAOH as template. Then it was modified by using catalytic cracking deposition (CCD). The prepared zeolite membranes exhibit high thermal stability and achieved high H2 permselectivities over CO2 and CO (>50) with high H2 permeance (>1.5°Á10-7 mol s-1 m-2 Pa-1). Water gas shift reaction has been carried out in the membrane reactor using modified nano sized spinel ferrite catalysts. The catalysts were prepared by ammonia assisted coprecipitation method. The performance of this reactor will be discussed in this paper.
