Solutions of single wall carbon nanotubes sorted by length and chiral vector display significantly improved properties compared to unsorted materials. With published techniques, use of sequential ultracentrifugation based separations has allowed for the production of fractions that can be used to isolate specific optical and physical properties of the nanotubes. These include the frequency and chirality dependent anisotropic polarizability, the contribution of end caps to Raman D band scattering, and magnetic susceptibility. Characterization of the intrinsic properties of the sorted solutions will be discussed.
