Green Chemistry and Reaction Engineering II

Description:
Fossil fuels will remain the mainstay of energy production well into the 21st century. However, the utilization of fossil fuels accompanies the increased anthropogenic emission of carbon dioxide. Thus, the development of science and technology for carbon dioxide capture and storage as well as utilization is necessary in order to reduce carbon emissions without adversely influencing energy use or hindering economic growth. Papers aimed at fundamental reaction engineering research covering experimental and/or modeling studies on various carbon capture technologies, and carbon storage schemes, such as geological, mineral, terrestrial, and ocean sequestrations, are solicited for this session. Novel technologies addressing the utilization of carbon dioxide for the production of chemicals and fuels are also welcome.
