Phase equilibria of multicomponent systems containing carbon dioxide + hydrocarbons are important for separation processes in petrochemical and chemical industries. The successful of the correlation and prediction for the phase equilibria of this kind of multicomponent systems depends on the interaction parameters. Unfortunately there is a lack of data reported in the literature for these mixtures [1,2]. The aim of this work is to present the experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium for the quaternary system carbon dioxide + ethanol + n-hexane + thiophene at 313 and 363 K. Phase equilibria of this mixture was measured in an apparatus based on the static-analytic method with on-line sampling [3]. Experimental results were correlated with the Peng-Robinson Equation of state using the Wong-Sandler mixing rule.
