CO2 capture and storage (CCS) is a technology with the potential to avoid dramatic climate change while allowing fossil fuel use. However, the development of CCS is limited due to significant economical barriers and the high CO2 reduction potential. In our study, a new kind of photocatalytic organic-inorganic porous hybrid material has been fabricated using synthetic chemical method based on a model calculation. The microstructure features of as-prepared hybrid and photocatalytic behavior for CO2 reduction are investigated with the aid of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analyser (TGA), and other characterization techniques. The results give an indication of great usefulness of the hybrid for CCS in a cost-effective way. Further, potentials for the establishment of a fuel cell system employing the hybrid, which converts CO2 and water into organic compound, are addressed.
