Quantitative Use of Particle Characterization Data for Process Modelling

Description:
The implementation of modern analytical and imaging techniques (such as laser diffraction or SEM) for particle characterization (such as particle size and shape) within pharmaceutical development is important in developing scientifically sound correlations between process conditions and quality product attributes. This session invites papers in quantitative use (such as population balancing and modeling) of particle characterization to particulate processes, particularly as applied in the pharmaceutical industry. Authors from industry and academia are encouraged to submit papers discussing such applications in the drug substance (API) processes (e.g. crystallization, nanoparticles) or in the drug product processes (e.g. granulation, milling or attrition).
