345806 Study of Physical Properties of Binary Mixtures of Sulfolane + 2-Butanol (or + 2-propanol) At Different Temperatures
Sulfolane and alcohols are classes of chemical compounds that are usually used as a solvent in different industrial recovery processes. The focus of the present work is to measure volumetric (densities) and transport (dynamic viscosity) properties of the following binary mixtures: sulfolane + 2-butanol (or + 2-propanol) at a range temperature from T = 303.15 to T = 343.15 K, at atmospheric pressure. Densities and viscosities were measured using a viscodensimeter (Anton Paar SVM 3000 Digital Oscillation U-tube). Viscosity deviations and excess volumes were obtained from the experimental data, by using a fitting procedure (Redlich-Kister type equation). The results show that excess volumes were positive over the entire mass fraction range for all binaries mixtures studied. Otherwise deviation viscosities are negative over the entire mass fraction range of the mixture. Excess volumes and deviation viscosities behaviors increasing with temperature.
