This investigation simulates unprocessed natural gas (NG) pretreatment system to remove more than 99% of CO2 from NG using Aspen Plus. Data from an experimental bench-scale apparatus verify simulation results. NG compositions has changed to see its effect on CO2 capture (%) and methane and CO2 output vapor mole fraction. Effect of varying pressure on capture has also investigated. Costing parameters, exergy loss and heat exchange’s efficiency have been calculated. The results confirm low exergy losses of 39.57 kWh/treated NG for simulation and 44.8 kWh/treated NG for bench-scale apparatus. High heat exchanger’s efficiency of +90% has been achieved. High pressure and low methane in NG composition will result in high CO2 capture.
