Potassium ion(K+) is one of the most abundant cation in human body and abnormal fluctuations of potassium ions K+usually indicates the disease such as alcoholism, heart disease,AID S,cancer and so on.Over the past decades, the detection for the potassium ions in vivo and vitro level has attracted great interest due to its important roles in various physiological activities and biological functions.Duo to the great selectivity, high sensitivity and simplicity of the equipment requirement, luminesce is a trendancy to be the output signal in the design of potassium ions(K+) biosensors nowadays. This poster has a review of the two types mechanisms of luminescent potassium ions(K+) biosensor:host-guest chemistry and the extension of the concept of supermolecular chemistry.Host-guest chemistry is related to the study of the formation of non-covalent interactions between a guest (selective recognition of a molecule) and host(detected molecular) ,which lays the foundation for the design of photoninduced electron transfer(PET) and intermolecular charge transfer(ICT) based potassium ions(K+) biosensors. The combination of host-guest chemistry and the chemistry of molecular assembly lead to a new concept:Supermoleular chemistry,in which the system can arrange into interesting supermolecular structures under the stimuli of potassium ions(K+),contributing to the forster resonance energy transfer(FRET),metal-metal interaction, aggregation induced emission(AIE) and chelestic liquid crystal membrane(CLCM) based potassium ions(K+) biosensors. Our intension is to provide readers with the mechanism of luminescent potassium biosensor, which may help you with the biosensor design.
