Abstract: As a result of harmful environmental and health effects brought by NOx emission, it is necessary to minimize NOx pollutant released into the atmosphere. Conventional SCR systems involve anhydrous or aqueous ammonia (NH3) or urea (CO(NH2)2) as a reducing reagent to reduce NOx to harmless N2 and H2O at high temperature 300-400 °C.1 It is still a big challenge to develop novel low-temperature catalyst (LTC) for SCR of NOx.2,3 This work focused on investigation on novel supported ionic liquid phase (SILP) catalysts and application of hydrocarbon (CxHy) or CO presented in exhaust gas from marine engine as reducing agent for SCR instead of using urea or ammonia.
