The objective of this work was to evaluate the separation of CH4 and CO2 gas mixtures via simulation using the USC Dynamic Adsorption Process Simulator (DAPS) and using single and multi-bed bench scale pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems. A variety of conditions were studied, including the effects of the feed composition, high to low pressure ratio, high pressure, low pressure, cycle time, light reflux ratio, heavy reflux ratio, and feed flow rate (feed throughput) on the purity and recovery of CH4. The latest single and multi-bed experimental and DAPS simulation results will be presented.
